MEET THE MEMBERS
Tim Taylor
PresidentTim Taylor is an educator and leadership coach with more than 30 years of service in public education. He served as Butte County Superintendent of Schools from 2012 to 2018, leading through the Camp Fire crisis and Oroville Dam evacuation. Tim later led the California Small School Districts Association, representing more than 580 districts statewide. A former Sacramento Teacher of the Year, his career spans teaching and administration across diverse education settings. Today, as CEO of Students First Leadership and a university lecturer, Tim mentors school leaders nationwide, bringing calm, clarity, and mission-driven leadership to complex systems.
Samantha Alloway
Vice PresidentSamantha Alloway is a respected leader in advocacy, government relations, and human services. As Executive Director of The Arc of Illinois, she advances policies that strengthen the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities statewide. Her background includes leadership roles with Little City Foundation, CASA/GAL of Kane County, and Lazarus House. A certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocate, Samantha brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work, inspired by her son’s autism diagnosis. A cancer survivor and lifelong Illinoisan, she is deeply committed to uniting families, legislators, and communities to create lasting, systems-level change.
Tara May
SecretaryTara May is the CEO of Aspiritech, a social enterprise employing neurodivergent adults in technology and software testing roles. Since joining in 2022, she has guided the organization through purpose-driven growth rooted in inclusion and people-first leadership. Previously, Tara held senior digital and media leadership roles at Winsight, Patch Media, AOL, and the Chicago Tribune, where she helped launch large-scale digital platforms. A frequent speaker on digital transformation and user experience, Tara leads with empathy, innovation, and clarity. She lives in Lake County with her husband and two children and is deeply committed to advancing neurodiversity in the workplace.
Jason Field
TreasurerJason is a CPA with over a decade of experience in public accounting, including time at Ernst & Young and as the founder of his own practice. He currently serves as Director of Accounting and Controller at AppTier, leading finance and operations for the organization. Jason joined Got4titude in its early stages while navigating fatherhood as a parent of a neurodivergent child. The community’s honesty, support, and shared strength deeply impacted him. Aligned with the mission, Jason is committed to building sustainable systems that ensure fathers have access to the resources, support, and belonging they deserve.
Bryan LaScala
Board MemberBryan is the CEO of NAPA Center, a global leader in intensive therapy for children with neurological and developmental needs. Growing up alongside his brother Cody, who has cerebral palsy, Bryan’s commitment to disability advocacy was shaped early in life. He began his career providing respite care before earning a degree in business administration and joining NAPA Center, where he has helped expand its global reach and impact. Bryan also supports families through the NAPA Center Kids Foundation. His leadership blends strategic growth with deep empathy, guided by a belief that every child deserves access to life-changing care.
Murdock “Doc” Smith
Board MemberDoc is a seasoned executive and educator focused on workforce development, access, and second chances. Since 2014, he has served as Executive Director of Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools, one of California’s most innovative adult education programs. Doc began his career in public safety, spending more than 26 years with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, including serving as State Parole Administrator. His leadership style centers on accountability, empowerment, and community building. Known for uniting teams and strengthening organizations, Doc is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning and opportunity-driven education.
Jeff Wolfe
Board MemberJeff Wolfe is a board-certified music therapist, Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow, and CEO of the Institute for Therapy through the Arts. With over a decade of leadership experience, he designs and expands creative arts therapy programs grounded in neuroscience, emotional regulation, and human connection. Jeff has extensive clinical experience supporting individuals with neurodivergence, trauma, dementia, and aphasia. He lectures at the university level, publishes in professional journals, and contributes to local and national mental health initiatives. Jeff holds graduate training in music therapy and counseling and is driven by a lifelong belief in creativity as a pathway to healing and community.
